Welcome! Come on in and stay awhile…. I’ll put some tea on to boil and get you some goodies to nibble on while we catch up on everything crafty.

Autumn 2022

Life sure does get busy and challenging sometimes! There are so many new wonderful soaps for you to enjoy that aren’t on my website yet. Thanks for your patience on that front and you are welcomed to contact me with any questions.

Autumn 2021

Please bare with me as I prepare an overhaul and update of my website. So much has changed and I have a lot of revisions in inventory to make. If you have any questions, please reach out so I can better assist you.

The Come Out and Play Sculpture Show was a huge success! I am grateful for everyone that came out to explore Debbie and Eric’s horse farm and all the art, food, and music. You can learn more about this special event and the artists at: comeoutandplay.info

Welcome 2021

Whew time has been flying! I’ve been staying busy with my daughter’s remote learning due to the pandemic and I’m still crafting. For the new year I decided to invest in myself and join the Soap Challenge Club.  You can check out my blog for more information and updates about that.

2020

It’s been an interesting year so far. I was working part time while my youngest daughter was in pre-K. Then the world-wide pandemic changed everything familiar and comfortable.

I’m still crafting! Because of Covid 19, I have handmade fabric masks available for purchase. Shout out to NC quilter Leah Day, who provided an excellent youtube tutorial for the mask pattern I use. You can find her fantastic content and quilting tutorials at leahday.com.

I’ve been working on restocking my best selling soaps including a new recipe for my lily of the valley soap. Sandalwood will be cured and ready mid June, while my third batch of Mindful Magnolia will be ready at the end of June.

I’ve been trying more advanced soaping such as the wood grain technique, which is tricky and lots of fun. Meanwhile, a few other new soap ideas are bubbling in the back of my mind, especially with the holidays fast approaching.

In my down time, I’m gardening, crocheting cat toys, and I’ve picked up cross stitch again.

2019

A year full of adapting to change and growth. My main crafty focus is on my handmade cold processed soaps and preparing for The Come Out and Play Art Show in the fall. I attended all 5 weekends and met a lot of great new people. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and the validating support I received.

2018 is Busy, busy, busy!

Winter weather finds me crocheting and I’ve been working on several projects including a shawl, an infinity scarf,  several hats and a handful of cat toys. Meanwhile I’m in the home stretch of finishing “New Blue”! A queen sized quilt journey I will not soon forget. Learn more on social media #newbluequilt

I’m on instagram! Come see what crafty shenanigans I’m getting into and follow me @craftycurlyrae.

Coming Soon!

I have some new soaps ready 🙂 I’ll have them listed in my shop soon.

Gardenia soap with bentonite clay,  tomato & charcoal soap, an updated eucalyptus spearmint soap, honeysuckle lemongrass soap, and a new batch of Mindful Magnolia soap. ALSO, my new ocean landscape soap smells as good as it looks!

Do you love glycerin soap? Going back to my beginnings as a soaper, I made a beautiful batch of Sea Glass soap that is simply gorgeous. Look for it in my shop!

Autumn Plans:

I’m tired of the hot, humid summer already so thinking about the cool autumn air gets me excited. I’m cooking up a new batch of fall-themed soaps that I can’t wait to share with you: chai, pumpkin and something warm and appley. My glycerin soaps will have pumpkin shapes or other fall-themed items embedded inside and make great gifts.

I’ve been crocheting slippers and hats for those cool evenings to come.  I’d love to find time to make a shawl or other warm attire too.
